The 9th edition of the Kerala Literature Festival, Asia’s largest literature festival, will take place at India‘s first UNESCO City of Literature, Kozhikode, from January 22 to 25, 2026.

A Global festivity of Words, Thoughts, and Ideas
The Kerala Literature Festival( KLF) is the largest literature festival in India, with over half a million attendees over four dynamic days. Innovated in 2016, KLF is organized by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-promoted by DC Books. The Festival is held annually on the strands of Kozhikode, India’s first ever UNESCO City of Literature. Recognised as the largest erudite gathering in Asia, KLF features a different line-up of speakers, including Nobel laureates, Booker Prize winners, Oscar winners, celebrities, accredited authors, and invited leaders.
An artistic meeting point as well, KLF hosts top-notch performances of music, cotillion, theatre, and other performative and participatory trades. The event is non-exclusive, and attendance is free of cost. The forthcoming 8th edition of KLF is listed for January 23 – 26, 2026. K Satchidanandan, the recognized minstrel and critic, is the Festival Director. Each time, KLF spotlights a Guest Nation to foster artistic exchange; France will be the Guest Nation for the 8th edition, whereas Turkey was feted in the 7th edition.
