Aash Ashitha is a distinguished emerging voice in present-day Malayalam literature
Her commended works include the short story collection Mungankuzhi, Jenniferum Poochakannukalum, and the novel Mushrooms and Cats. She is also known for her Malayalam translation of noted Kannada queer writer Vasudhendra’s Mohanaswamy.
Her stories and poems are often published in leading literary periodicals. She has been awarded with recognitions such as the Kairali-Atlas Literary Award and the T.M. Chacko Master Literary Award. Her poems achieved international approval through English translations in Redleaf Journal and German translations in STRASSENSTIMMEN (Street Voices).
Currently based in Bengaluru, Aash Ashitha works as Deputy News Editor at The Times of India. She has previously held editorial positions at Deccan Herald and The New Indian Express.
